Glamourous Hair How To's

Achieve a luxurious mane in no time - Some girls seem to have great hair every day. All in the genes? No! They know the secret tips to glamorous hair! Now you can too - just read on and get styling!

- For outdoor winter activities, beat hat head at its own game. Long hair can be sprayed with a light coating of leave-in conditioner and slicked back into a ponytail. Gals with short hair can use a moisturizing get and comb the hair back as well.
- Wear a great pair of sunglasses on top of your head for an a la Audrey Hepburn look.
- If you have medium length or long hair, sleep with your hair loosely lied in a ponytail or bun on top of your head. This will keep the wild hairs at bay, allowing for ease in the morning routine.
- Eliminate smoke and cooking smells by spritzing fragrance on a hairbrush and brushing it through your hair.
- Hair masks are wonderful ways to bring hair back to life. Try to add one to your routine every couple of weeks.
- Give short hair a midday pick-me-up by misting it with water and working a little styling product through from roots to the ends.
- A deep side part is a quick way to get a sassy and sexy look.
- For a change and quick update to your look, try a zigzag part in your hair.
- Give your styling tools a good soaking. Every month soak your hairbrush, comb and styling accessories in hot water and some build-up-removing shampoo for two to three minutes.
- If your medium or longer length hair decides to take the flat track, spray on some root volumizer and create a little lift by blow-drying the roots upside down.
- Baseball caps can be oh-so-chic when paired with a great pair of earrings and the perfect lip color.

- Shampooing every day can dry hair out, so give it a rest with a couple of days off. Instead of your normal shampoo, rinse with a refreshing blast of cool water and then spritz your damp hair with a tiny bit of leave-in conditioner.
- Dinner party ideas for hair: Long hair pulled back in a loose bun held in place with two chopstick-style hair accessories is a great way to look polished. Medium-length hair pulled in an asymmetrical side sweep secured with a festive barrette looks very glamorous. Short hair can look suave by slicking back the hair with a light pomade.
- Shampoos and conditioners designed for different haircolors contain ingredients that will extend and enhance you hair color. Plus, most contain shine boosters for a bit of added pizzazz.
- Long hair pulled back in a ponytail and tied with a colorful scarf adds a European flair to your look.
- If your bob has become a bouffant, an instant rescue is to put a silk scarf tightly over the head and tie at the neck-just for a minute or two.
- If you wake up to bed hair every morning, try changing your pillowcase to satin instead of cotton. Satin pillowcases allow the hair to slide across the pillow gently as you move in your sleep.
- For some easy curls, try taking a random one to two inch section of damp hair, twisting the strands tightly and securing in place with a clip. Let hair dry naturally, only taking it down when the hair is completely dry. Don't comb it, but instead turn your head upside down and use your fingers to gently comb through and break up the curl.
- When using a blow-dryer, switch to the cooler setting for the last minute or so. Applying too much heat at the scalp and neck can cause you to perspire and your hair to lose a little of its volume.
- Flyaway hair can be quickly tamed by taking a cloth sprayed with an antiseptic spray and gently rubbing over the top layer of the hair.
- If you are setting your hair after a bath or shower, close the bathroom door so the steam does not escape. Spray your hair with a light setting spray and roll your hair. The steam will help set the curls.
- Baby powder is a great volumizer. For days when your hair is flattened, sprinkle a little baby powder on your roots, flip your hair upside down and gently shake the hair with your fingers to distribute the powder.
- Try partially drying your hair before applying styling products. Totally wet hair can dilute the product effectiveness, causing the hair to go flat of lose the style more quickly.
- Scout around for tiny hair clips or barrettes that are the same color as your hair. Keep a few in your bag or desk drawer for those times when it seems as if each wisp of hair is on the escape. By matching your haircolor, they blend in, making them less noticeable.
- Revitalize dull locks by shampooing once or twice a month with a detoxifying shampoo that will remove any residue. Follow with a deep conditioning treatment.
- For glamorous hair accessories, look no further than your jewelry box. Rings can dress up hair ties. Clip-on earrings can be used as focal points in a updo. A necklace can double as a headband. Dressy pins can be wonderful barrettes; just use a bobby pin or two to secure.
- Poor rinsing is just one of the prime causes of dull hair. A good remedy-just rinse your hair twice as long as you think you need to.
- Rinsing hair with champagne brings out blonde highlights. Conditioning the hair with another adult beverage, beer, adds a lot of shine to your hair.
- Beach hair can be pretty if done right. If your hair is medium to long and you take a dip in the sea, make two or more braids after coming out of the water. After drying, take out the braids and run your fingers through your hair. If your hair is short, just scrunch it up with your fingers and allow to dry.
- For really bad hair days, rather than fight, join it. Pull your hair back using a wet comb. Add a dab of conditioner to give your hair a bit of beauty treatment and staying power. Pick out a headband in your favorite color. Your hair will be out of your face and off your mind.
